We at Torgåsgården & Hike in Dalarna love the outdoors and people so our idea is simple; we want to offer a safe and homely base on the farm for those who are going to visit Sälenfjällen and provide customized adventures and experiences if you want our help to find your way out into nature. Whether you are a company at a conference, a congregation with confirmation students or a family going on vacation. We also offer complete solutions for groups.
Did you know that our part of Malung Sälen municipality alone is bigger than the whole of Öland? Or that there are about 20 nature reserves with everything from the wild expanses of the mountains to the safe clearing of the sheepfold and large deep forests with hundreds of fishing waters around us? Choose between following well-marked mountain trails or barely trodden paths in the forest. Book us as a guide or go on your own. Let us show you our favorite spots or find your own. Adventure and nature are right on your doorstep and we want to show you a different side of Sälen.
We are part of STF, the Swedish Tourist Association since 2019.
The Källén family - We live in the middle of the adventure
It is us, Moa & Björn Källén who own and run Torgåsgården & Hike in Dalarna together with our two sons. In the fall of 2017, we as a family were given the opportunity to buy Torgsgården and begin our biggest adventure yet. We live on the farm and often it feels like the guests, both new and old, come "home" to us as much as they come to Torgåsgården. We have long experience of the area, tourism and service after many years in the Norwegian and Swedish mountains. We have tried to move south several times but the mountains constantly call us back every time with all its opportunities for outdoor life, winter sports and safe lifestyle for the whole family. It's easy to spend time together as a family and just as easy to get out on the ice and go fishing as it is to strap on your board and hit the slopes as it is to go to the shops if you live in a big city. It really is like living in the middle of the adventure!
We also have our talented and caring colleagues, Marie and Johanna who help with the important daily work on the farm and our fantastic local young people who work extra and of course our sons who help us.

We contribute to sustainable travel
The place itself, Torgåsgården and the nature around us is nothing we take for granted. Therefore, it is a matter of course that we have signed STF's sustainability promise and work to minimize our and our guests' footprint on the site.
We are very proud of our small village, which offers many good local products and services. Therefore, it is natural to use what we have closest to us first. For example, we pick up all the buns we serve at the small farm bakery Hjulslätts on the other side of the river and much of the food we buy directly from our grocery stores in the area. It is a matter of course to always try to make purchases according to season and that have Swedish origin. We also collaborate with local companies that we know offer good service and experiences for our guests. We work to reduce food waste and get more efficient and environmentally friendly heating of the farm.
One of the most important issues in travel at the moment is also our core issue. Namely, sustainable outdoor recreation. Wear and tear on nature can take many different forms. We contribute by offering training and teaching our guests about the conditions of outdoor life and the fantastic opportunities and obligations of the right of public access, and by our guided tours and experiences taking place over a larger area and off the beaten track.
